Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) is delighted to announce its formal relationship with Red Lily Health Service.
This new partnership, effective 22 October 2021, will allow Red Lily Health Service to utilise RAHC Health Professional (HP) placements, should they be required, to meet patient needs.
In August 2021, RAHC team members Emma Thomas and Norma Benger detoured from their trip to Gunbalunya clinic to say hello to the HPs at the health services clinic in Jabiru. At the time, the township of Jabiru had recently been handed back to the Mirarr People and as such, the clinic was beginning its transition with Red Lily Health Service to be an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service
The Red Lily Health Board (RLHB) was established in 2011 to assist the health industry of the West Arnhem region through the development of quality primary health care services, with the long-term goal of establishing a regional Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services.
This stop was an excellent opportunity for RAHC to introduce themselves to the Red Lily team and discuss how we might be able to assist the clinic with HP staffing needs.
On 20 October, a formal meeting was held in Darwin at the Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT) office to further discuss the workforce solutions RAHC can offer. In attendance was RAHC Cultural Engagement Advisor Ms Norma Benger, RAHC Clinical Manager Ms Emma Thomas, RAHC Regional Coordinator for the Top End Ms Leila Soares, Red Lily Clinic Acting CEO Mr Steve Hayes, Red Lily Clinic Business Manager Mr Brad Palmer and Red Lily Clinic Support Officer Mr Mrinal Dey.
RAHC is excited to be working with the Red Lily team and assist with the placement of HPs as needed.
