RAHC has appointed Annie Watson as our new Placement Manager.

The Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) is pleased to announce the appointment of David Glasson as its new National Manager. David commenced this position on Monday, 17 February 2020.

The Australian Government has formally extended the Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) for a further three years taking the program through to 30 June 2022.

Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) has launched four new eLearning modules to further assist, educate and strengthen the transition of urban-based health professionals into remote primary healthcare.

The Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) proudly celebrated its 10^th anniversary at events held in Canberra, Darwin and Alice Springs in late October.

Congratulations to Josh Stafford on winning the RAHC-sponsored Excellence in Mentoring Award at the 2018 CRANAplus conference which was held in Cairns, 20 – 22 September.

We are delighted to announce that Ms Pat Anderson AO has been appointed to the Board of RAHC as Chairperson with effect from 28 February 2018.  In addition to Ms Anderson’s appointment, RAHC also welcomes Mrs Janine Mohamed to the Board.

It has been a year of milestones for RAHC. We celebrated sending our 1000th new-to-remote health professional to the Territory and our 5000th placement of a health professional since 2008.

The Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) has placed its 5000^th health professional into a remote Indigenous community in the Northern Territory (NT), since the program began in late 2008.

On Tuesday 2nd May 2017, we sent our 1000th new-to-remote health professional, Ellenie Palmer, Oral Health Therapist from Newcastle, NSW into a remote Indigenous community in the Northern Territory (NT).

When preparing to go on placement, the appropriate dress code must be considered in order to demonstrate cultural sensitivity and understanding.
