From 4-6 October 2022, Remote Area Health Corps (RAHC) clinical team members attended the 39th National CRANAplus Conference in Adelaide. This year’s theme was Passion. Purpose. Influence. Impact. The aim was to build on existing strengths to improve the health and wellbeing of rural and remote Australians.

The conference was an excellent opportunity for like-minded remote and isolated health individuals to network, connect and share. For RAHC Clinical/Cultural Support Officer Ceah David, the most enjoyable experience was learning more about the resources available for Health Professionals (HPs), hearing new perspectives on cultural safety and seeing more examples of the great work HPs contribute.

“I also enjoyed making connections and meeting inspiring people, like those who inspired me to continue down my current career path and degree,” said Ceah.

“Attending these events is always a great way to connect with new and existing RAHC HPs. I enjoy sharing what RAHC does with the wider health industry and discussing the programme face-to-face with interested HPs. I received feedback regarding the credentialing and recredentialling processes, which is helpful as we continue to improve our processes.”

Attending the conference was also a great opportunity to remind everyone about the availability of RAHCs eLearning platform.

“I really enjoyed talking to nursing students interested in the RAHC programme about our eLearning platform. By utilising RAHC eLearning, students who are not yet eligible to go on placement with RAHC can still become a part of the RAHC community and improve their knowledge around remote health,” continued Ceah.
